Tagore was a British Indian poet, author, playwright, musician,composer, philosopher, social reformer, painter and one of the foremost figures of the Bengali Renaissance. Despite all his accomplishments, when Tagore came to the end of his life, he said these words,
“I have spent my life stringing and unstringing my instrument, while the song I came to sing remains unsung.”
We can spend so much of our time preparing, planning, worrying, or waiting for the right moment that we can come to the close of our lives never fulfilling the purpose or calling that God wants to give us.
There are two questions I continually evaluate my life by; (1))What am I investing my life in? and (2) Does what I am investing my life in have an impact on eternity? These two questions are the focus in Jesus’ parable of the four types of soil that is recorded in Luke 8:1-15. In telling this parable Jesus was calling his followers and us to evaluate our lives by asking ourselves those two questions. In this message we focus on this parable and the evaluation process Jesus invites us to take.
